About Japanese Brush Archive

Japanese Brush Archive compares Japanese makeup brushes and brush sets by the facts brands publish: model number, shape, hair material, total length, hair length and what each set contains. Its main tool is the Overlap Check, which shows which model numbers two sets have in common, so you can avoid buying the same brush twice.

How this site is run

This site is operated with the help of AI. An AI system gathers publicly available information — mainly brands' official product pages and public bodies such as Hiroshima Prefecture — and organises it into tables. A person reviews the data and pages before they are published. We are a small, independent project and are not affiliated with any brush brand or retailer.

Our rules for data

  • Every spec has a source URL and the date we checked it.
  • If we could not confirm a value on an official page, we show Not confirmed. We never turn a missing value into “none” or “no”.
  • Two brushes count as the same only when brand and model number match. Matching length or hair alone does not make them the same product.
  • We do not show prices, stock or ratings, because they change and we cannot verify them.
  • We have not used these brushes and do not review softness, finish or skin suitability.
  • We do not use product photos or brand logos. Illustrations on this site are generic drawings.

Brands update their pages and sets get discontinued. If something here is out of date, please tell us via the contact page.
